Name: Mizuro, Getsurei (水, Mizu= Water, オール ro= Oar, 月ラ Getsurei= Ages of the Moon)

Age: Approximately 800 years old, though she appears somewhere between 18 and 20.

Appearance






Description: Getsurei is a young girl with a petite body and a freckled face. She wears circular glasses and has dark blue eyes with elliptical pupils. Her skin is a rather pale, milky-white due to her lack of contact with the sun. Her most frightening feature is actually her teeth; they have all been removed and replaced with shark-like fangs that are made of very dense metal which allow her to bite away nearly anything. She also admits that her arms, legs, and jaw are reinforced with metal and growth supplements to make them stronger. Her ribs have also been removed, and were replaced with expandable metal rods with the likeness of ribs that defend her better from attacks with their thick density, and still expand normally to allow her to breathe. She wears the standard shihakusho uniform, consisting of a kimono with lengthened sleeves, a hakama with slits through the sides to show her thighs, and white shitoge and tabi socks. Underneath this, she wears an armored Ginjonan, or under kimono, which is strong enough to block the attacks of unsealed zanpakuto, though it greatly wears her down. She wears her 12th Division haori with long sleeves over this, and has been noted to have modified it by adding additional pockets and secret slips in order to hold her equipment. The inside of the haori is colored an aqua-marine green. Also, instead of wearing the usual straw sandals that most shinigami wear, she wears a pair of black platform sandals, giving her a small additional boost of about two inches to her height, bringing her to a total of 5'4". On her left wrist, she wears one of her prominent inventions. The device, known as the Reiryoku Gauntlet, is a small black wrist case with a metal panel that protects the top of the hand. It has a screen and numerous dials, as well as a Gegier-counter like meter that is able to detect spiritual pressure in the air and measure it accordingly before recording it. Oddly enough, also located on her left hand, is a silver engagement ring...

Eye Color: Dark Blue

Height: 5'4", though she's really 5'2" without her sandals.

Weight: 102lbs naturally, but around 2480lbs pounds with her equipment on.

Weakness: Getsurei is more commonly known in Soul Society as 'Samekame', which literally means 'Shark Turtle'. The nickname, designed to be insulting, was given to her upon her accession to 3rd Seat of her Division. The first part comes from her teeth, the other part comes from her ability to barely keep up with any other Shinigami in the entirety of Seireitei. She tends to carry so much junk with her, and reinforce her equipment and body so much, that she becomes a turtle both in defense and speed. Though her defense is top-notch, making it incredibly difficult to damage her, her offensive skills and speed are lower than the average 5th Seat of a division. Her Reiryoku Gauntlet can be used to force her in to overdrive, but it does very little good for more than five uses before shorting out entirely. Shedding her armored clothing also seems to help, but she rarely does this, as she has a fear of being gutted by an enemy and dieing.

Personality: The best way to summarize Getsurei's personality is with a single derogatory word that is pinned on almost every 12th Division member; Nerd. Getsurei passionately pursues intellectual activities, esoteric knowledge, and other rather obscure interests rather than engaging in more social or popular activities. Her Division members hardly ever see her, because she's usually cooped up in her lab to work, where she plays video games on the computer in her spare time. Like a nerd, she commonly fiddles with her glasses and spouts intellectual knowledge at random, but unlike a nerd, she is no simple push over. Though she is sensitive about her teeth, to the point that she cries when people make fun of her for them, she exhibits an outward air of sarcasm and smartass-aura, as a way of hiding her insecurities. She hides further beneath that a near psuedo-psychotic personality, created from being bullied for years in her division and the academy, that allows her to bypass morals for her work. But her most driving trait, the trait that backs all of this, is the concept that rules Getsurei's world; Everything exists by Science, and everything is Science. To her, Science is God, and she disagrees with anything that doesn't agree with science. She even takes this as far as disagreeing with the existence of Kido, claiming it's 'just whipping energy around rather than magic'. This also leads her to not rely on her zanpakuto, and as such they have a bad relationship and rarely agree on anything, due to her zanpakuto being a Kido-type as well as a Defensive-type. They have only ever agreed on something four times in their history together; when she achieved Shikai in a moment of desperation, and when she pulled the spirit out with a Tenshintai doll in order to train and achieve Bankai. Her favorite food is smores and unflavored, slightly cold ramen noodles, while her least favorite food is lettuce, tomato, pickles, and relish.

Likes: Video games, inventing things, marshmallows, things which are blue and white, increasing her own defenses.

Dislikes: Harassment, moving at a fast pace, her gauntlet (when it isn't working properly), most vegetables.

Zanpakuto

Zanpakuto's Name: Jakotsu (literally, "Snake Witch")

Zanpakuto's Sealed State: Jakotsu takes the form of a tanto with a small straight blade and a black handle with a bronze pommel. The tanto is kept in her kimono between her breasts, leaving the handle jutting out at the top, rather than in her sash.

Shikai Release Phrase: Tataru (literally, "Entrance Them")

Shikai Appearance: When released, Jakotsu will transform in to a thick black substance that quickly forms around Getsurei. It then solidifies in to a giant eel like creature with a sleek black body and ruby-like red eyes. It has a small glowing bulb that hangs from the end of it's head, much like that of a angler fish. The creature tends to wrap around Getsurei in a circle when released, and responds to her verbal commands. It has the capability to fly, but tends to smash through objects as it goes, making it unsuitable for any sort of external transport.

Shikai Abilities: Jakotsu's primary ability seems to be it's incredible defensive and regenerative properties. If a portion of it's body is destroyed in combat, it can then regenerate that portion and continue to protect Getsurei. Getsurei has stated that so long as a portion of Jakotsu is still present, it can continue to regenerate. Also, if a portion's stump has become too damaged to otherwise regenerate, Jakotsu will destroy that area and replicate itself over the newly damaged area. Supposedly, this was added by Getsurei herself, and is the only ability she has been able to incorporate in to it under it's permission. One of it's other primary uses is it's ability to store people and objects within itself to protect them. For example, if Getsurei were in danger, it could swallow Getsurei and store her in it's stomach, protecting her from enemy attacks. If destroyed by a powerful attack, a seed like portion of it's body-- it's stomach --will remain containing everything that was inside of it. The stomach itself is almost completely impenetrable, and can only be broken from the inside out. The creature's only offensive ability seems to be that it can wrap around enemies and bind them tightly, to restrain them. Because Getsurei disdains it's unscientific form and abilities, she tries to refrain from using it. When the creature is destroyed entirely, the tanto's hilt will glow and restore the blade.



Bankai's Name: Jijuuchou Jakotsu (literally, "Grand Necromantic Snake Witch")

Bankai Appearance: After being released, Jakotsu explodes in to a much larger amount of the black substance that previously formed it, and slowly coalesces in to a gigantic form of it's Shikai, becoming Jijuuchou Jakotsu. It's gargantuan form is easily large enough to cover an entire freeway overpass from one exit to the next, meaning that the creature usually must wrap around nearby buildings or float in the air. It's angler fish like appendage also becomes much larger, and allows Getsurei to access it's 'Mikoyose' ability.

Bankai Abilities: After entering in to it's Bankai state, Jijuuchou Jakotsu's abilities become even more powerful. It's regenerative properties are magnified by ten-fold, allowing regeneration to be near instantaneous levels. It doesn't stop there however. When a portion of Jijuuchou Jakotsu is destroyed, for example it's head, that portion will now do more than just regenerate; it will fork and create a second head. This can be done with any end portion of Jijuuchou Jakotsu, though it's limit seems to be eight of either side. It can also now swallow upwards of three dozen people for defense in it's massive stomach, and gains access to the two abilities listed below.

• Mikoyose (魔術, literally "Necromancy"): After swallowing an injured ally or Getsurei in a special way, Jijuuchou Jakotsu can transfer them in to the angler fish-like bulb on it's head and repair their wounds by pouring a healing reiatsu in to it. The healing reiatsu can save the target from the brink of death, even restoring lost limbs. When the healing is complete, the bulb explodes and lets the person out, though they will not return with any items that they had with them. These items are kept in the creature's stomach and be spat out later. Despite the abilities name, it cannot return the deceased to life, so long as they have been dead longer than ten seconds. The pod can also only contain one person at a time, and takes a considerable amount of preparation to regenerate it for use in battle again. This means it is only generally possible to use once per Bankai.
  
  
• Boufunuma (死んだ泥地, literally "Embalming Swamp"): Jijuuchou Jakotsu can expel a mass of liquid from it's stomach to cover a large area, or blanket a specific target by narrowing it's mouth to create a powerful spray. The liquid makes anything it coats gain absolutely no traction, making the target unable to hold any weapons they have or even move about so long as they are coated in it. It is slick enough to even cause excess clothing to slide off, such as coats. Because of it's properties, it doesn't evaporate or freeze. Instead, it only grows hotter or cooler in temperature. Only absolute maximums seem to be able to get rid of it.

Other Weapons

Hojiku-Zai (Regenerative Serum): Inherited from past formulas left in the 12th Division barracks, Getsurei has the ability to create a "regenerative serum," which can regrow limbs upon injection, and looks like some sort of green chemical stored in a small needle. It can also be used to restore less major injuries as well, such as damage to internal organs.

Zanpakutō Reassignment: As 12th Division Captain, Getsurei has the ability to change a Zanpakutō's race and gender, and make other such modifications to a zanpakuto in order to edit it's powers. She, however, has been unable to remodel her own zanpakuto due to their disapproval of each other. She has a catalog which is used in the reassignment, and carries it around with her, as well as publishes it in Seireitei Communication on a monthly basis.

Variations of Gigai: Getsurei is skilled in experimentation involving Gigai bodies, and uses multiple types of Gigai bodies while in the field. Her own personal gigai has been modified with enhanced speed, strength, and endurance. By touching the tattoo located under the right strap of her dress, she can free herself from her gigai without a Gikongan. She also has inflatable gigai for distractions, and to use when her own personal gigai is not available.

Reiryoku Gauntlet: Getsurei's best invention; the Reiryoku Gauntlet is a small electronic device which is attached to her left forearm. It has a green screen with multiple dials, as well as a small speaker, gear like dials, and a Geiger-counter like attachment which detects the reishi levels in the air. The gauntlet's main purpose however, is to enhance the user's reiryoku, or control over their internal spirit energy. Upon attachment, it sends microscopic diodes in to the blood stream. These diodes enhance the user's ability to manipulate their internal spiritual energy, and give them great control over it. This allows her to move about with her large amount of equipment and armor.

Ginjonan Armor: Underneath her kimono, she wears a thick, heavy metal-like underclothing which is dense and thick enough to block blows from blades and shield her from damage. However, the armor is very heavy, and even with the use of the Reiryoku Gauntlet, only allows her to use Shunpo at a maximum of twenty feet. Even this tires her though, meaning her ability to use Shunpo is effectively disabled.

Tonbokyou (Dragonfly Assassins): These devices, which appear as small discs until activated, are very fast explosive bombs that can be controlled through the Reiyoku Gauntlet on her wrist. They explode when detonated remotely, or they strike their target. She is noted to carry ten with her at a time.

Hidden Metallic Whip: Getsurei conceals a black cord within her sleeve which can act like a whip. The cord has a forked end, similar to a snake's tongue, and is as strong and durable as a normal zanpakuto. The cord can be withdrawn back in to her sleeve using a small hidden motor, and can also be used to pull objects to her or pull her towards other objects by first ensnaring the object with the cord and then using the motor to reel her in.

Token Gate: Created by Getsurei as a way of creating a quick escape route, the Token Gate takes the form of a small chip infused with a large amount of reiatsu focused in to a single place. When the token is snapped and thrown, the reiatsu that is stored in it will split a void in space, tearing open a gate similar to a Senkaimon. The dimension between the portals however is not Dangai; it is simply a whirling tunnel of unknown crushing power generated by the pressure being released at once. If one became trapped in this dimension, they would be crushed in to an infinitesimal size and die.
